THE REASONS FOR FEDERATION - presented by Shannon
Inquiry Question: What were the reasons for and against federation in your colony?
Reasons for Federation in Queens land:
The reasons for federation in My colony QLD is that moving around colonies could be quite difficult because everyone has there own set of rules that you have to follow an incorporated group of rules would make living easier.
The reasons against federation
There was also people against federation some thought it would be too expensive, others thought everything is working fine without a federation, but without a federation we would not have any common laws and we would all have our own separate laws and we wouldn’t have the freedom that we have now in a federation.
That whole sentence basically means that we have the freedom to go state to state, and without being in a federation going state to state would be much harder and people would be more restricted.
