'Lunch Time Listens in 2020'
Each day of the week students will give one fact that highlights Indigenous culture and then play a song by an Indigenous artist.

A song by John Farnham and Mitch Tambo.
Tambo is a Gamilaraay and Birri Gubba man and lives in Melbourne. Mitch translated the famous Aussie song into his Gamilaraay language. |

At the time of European occupation, there were over 700 different indigenous langauges and dialects spoken in Australia. Now, there are less than 250 still in use.

NAIDOC is an acronym that stands for 'National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee' Its origins can be traced to the emergence of Aboriginal groups in the 1920′s which sought to increase awareness in the wider community of the status and treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.
We will use the letters to raise awareness of some of the many aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in this country

The Noongar spelt
Noongah, Nyungar, Nyoongar, Nyoongah, Nyungah, Nyugah, Yunga are Aboriginal Australian peoples who live in the south-west corner of Western Australia, from Geraldton on the west coast to Esperance on the south coast. Noongar country is the land occupied by 14 different groups: Amangu, Ballardong, Yued, Kaneang, Koreng, Mineng, Njakinjaki, Njunga, Pibelmen, Pindjarup, Wardandi, Whadjuk, Wiilman and Wudjari. |
