Huge change for Freddie in our house...we are desperate to try and keep him as our focus as well as trying to care for Sully.

We left it until he was born to name our son! We had so many names in the mix but none really stuck.
We slowly crossed off names from our list and we were finally left with one fantastic name. SULLIVAN!!!! It means dark eyes which he certainly has (at the moment) an is from Irish descent...even though we are not Irish! Sarah went into labour on Wednesday night!
We stayed up through the night, excited to welcome our new son into the world and at 6:20am our new boy had arrived! Headed to Brixton.I met a long time friend Sophie in her favourite coffee shop, we both did some work and used their 'bottomless coffee' card to enjoy a range of coffees and iced lattes! I met Sophie when I worked at an arena in Manchester (at least 15 years ago). She is a quantity surveyor in London. Onto some mini golf with Cousin HarryHarry chose to meet a really cool mini golf bar to have a round of 9 holes. There were so many random landmarks being used as obstacles and we were tied going into the last hole. In the end I took the win with 2 shots vs Harry's 4 shots. CHAMPION! TONIGHT! HAMILTONI am so so excited to get to see a Musical tonight. It is called Hamilton and focuses on a man who was an American soldier and statesman, he fought in the American Revolution to enable America to become an independent Country from England. He helped to write the US constitution and one of Americas founding fathers.
MATHS CHALLENGE! Today I have used a Bike rental to get around the city, have a look at the screenshots and work out how far I have travelled by bike today. Good Morning from Sunny EnglandThe temperature was 28 degrees when I arrived in England. I needed to quickly put my shorts and Tshirt on! I flew from Perth to Doha (Capital city of Qatar) and then from Doha to London Heathrow...one of the world's busiest airports. I sat next to a really cool year 4 student from the Sunshine Coast who was also missing her Book Week as well...apparently in her school the year groups get assigned an author and you have to dress up as someone from that author's books. After a quick dash to my hotel it was out with my cousins, Tom and Harry and Auntie Mel for some walking, drinks and a traditional pub dinner! The weather was fantastic throughout the day and I am sad to say without any sunscreen I got a little burnt on the back of my neck. I did not expect it to be so hot. I should've brought my sunglasses! DAILY MATHS CHALLENGE!1.
My budget per day is 60 pounds. I am here for 7 days so how much do I have in my budget? 2. The current exchange rate is 1 pound = 2 dollars. What is my daily Australian budget? 60 pounds = $??? I am so sad not to be there today.
Trying to shake the cold and cough off before I go and then I bloomin' eat a peanut which causes an allergic reaction and now I need to do some tests today to make sure I am ok. I was looking forward to showing you Freddie's book week costume today as well as getting on with our stories for BOOK WEEK! 13th October is a big deal - it's my birthdayThis is the first birthday with Freddie by my side! It was an absolute cracker. Sarah, Freddie and I went to the park early in the morning for coffee, cinnamon scrolls and dog watching...Freddie loves dogs so this was a special start. Then it was off to the zoo.
This was Freddie's first visit. I was kindly given a years membership from the parents of Room 17 so I am sure it wont be the last. We visited the penguins, saw some snakes and said hello to lots of African animals like Elephants, Giraffes and Rhinos. After 6 huge weeks with Freddie. I feel like I am finally getting the hang of being a stay at home dad. Here are 6 things I have learnt so far! 1. Make sure you put him on tummy a lot!2. Try lots of different foods with him3. Make sure you read with him4. Take some time in the pool5. Give him lots of opportunity to play6. babies love bouncingFreddie and I journeyed around the northern suburbs yesterday to pick up the restaurant vouchers and give out the thank you cards and gifts to everyone who donated or was involved in the restaurant experience!
It is with a sad feeling in my stomach that I say goodbye to Woodlands and start a new whirlwind adventure with Freddie.
Lots of challenges and experiences ahead and I can't wait to share them all with you. For now I want to thank all the students and parents from Room 17 for their support in me taking this leave. I will be back as much as I can to say hey and share some Freddie cuddles. |
