It's time to ask great questions!

When reporting and creating non fiction text, it is vitally important you get the correct information BUT it is also to get fantastic answers to your questions.  Asking is simple - you inflect your voice at the end of a sentence like...'Do you like Ice-Cream?'

The answer will either be Yes or No - You have the information BUT is not very interesting. As a reporter/podcaster/interviewer/ life inquirer you should also strive for MORE. Delve deeper into a topic and you will found a whole heap more that will interest you and your listeners/readers.

Your questions should start with open words.  "DO" is not open,  it will give you a yes or no answer...however if you start with:

WHO?
WHere?
Which?
What?
WHen?
WHY?
How?

You are going to get into all sorts of excitement and find out so much more about the person you are questioning or the facts you are trying to source.

The ice cream question...let's make it better
Do you like ice cream? _ BORING _ #snoozefest

Who do you like to eat ice cream with?
Where is your favourite ice cream place?
Which ice cream flavour is your favourite?
What Icecream flavour would you like to try?
When was the first/ last time you ate ice cream?
Why do like that person/that place/ that flavour?
How many ice cream scoops would you normally get?

So Go! Ask questions my little detectives...but ask interesting ones!
